Position Summary
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health at Montefiore Einstein seeks a full-time General Obstetrician-Gynecologist to join its Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology. This faculty position offers a dynamic opportunity to provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care within a leading academic health system while participating in the education of medical students and residents and engaging in scholarly activity and clinical research.
The successful candidate will deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care across the continuum of women’s health services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Faculty members are expected to contribute to the academic mission of the department through teaching, mentorship, quality improvement, and clinical innovation.
This position reports directly to the Generalist Division Director within the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health.
Essential Clinical Responsibilities
Obstetric Care
- Provide comprehensive obstetric care, including:
- Antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
- Management of low, moderate and high risk pregnancies (Maternal Fetal Medicine consultation available 24/7)
- Vaginal deliveries, operative vaginal deliveries, and cesarean sections
- Participate in Labor & Delivery coverage, including:
- Daytime attending coverage
- Overnight attending coverage
- Weekend and holiday coverage rotations
- Supervise and collaborate with residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, medical students, nurses, and ancillary staff on Labor & Delivery units
- Participate in obstetric emergency response and multidisciplinary care initiatives
Gynecologic Care
- Provide comprehensive outpatient gynecologic care including preventive, acute, and chronic women’s health services
- Diagnose and manage common gynecologic conditions including:
- Abnormal uterine bleeding
- Fibroids
- Endometriosis
- Pelvic pain
- Menopausal management
- Contraceptive counseling and procedures
- Perform office-based gynecologic procedures including colposcopy
- Perform inpatient and outpatient gynecologic surgery, including:
- Open abdominal surgery
- Laparoscopic surgery
- Hysteroscopy
- Vaginal surgery
- Robotic-assisted gynecologic surgery
- Participate in gynecologic emergency, inpatient and surgical call schedules
Ambulatory Practice
- Provides comprehensive, evidence-based outpatient obstetric and gynecological care within our ambulatory practice locations
- Deliver high-quality, equitable, culturally responsive care to a diverse patient population
- Provide preventative and routine clinical management, performing office-based procedures, and managing care transitions
- Clinical oversight to advanced practice providers (APPs), medical assistants, and—where applicable—residents, fellows and medical students, ensuring high-quality care and seamless operational continuity
Administrative and Quality Standards
- Ensure timely documentation and compliance with institutional quality and safety standards
- Participate in departmental quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Academic and Teaching Responsibilities
As a member of a major academic medical center, faculty are expected to actively participate in the education and mentorship of learners across all levels
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching and supervising:
- Medical students
- Obstetrics and Gynecology residents
- Rotating trainees and advanced practice learners
- Providing bedside, operative, and didactic teaching in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Participating in:
- Resident simulation training
- Morbidity and mortality conferences
- Grand rounds
- Core educational conferences
- Serving as a mentor and advisor to trainees
- Contributing to curriculum development, evaluation, and academic programming.
- Provide timely and actionable feedback to learners and complete evaluations within specified timeframes
Faculty appointment at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine will be commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments.
Research and Scholarly Activity
The Department supports faculty participation in scholarly activity and clinical research. Opportunities are available to engage in:
- Clinical research initiatives
- Outcomes research

- Multidisciplinary collaborative research
Faculty are encouraged to:
- Present scholarly work at regional and national meetings
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals
- Participate in departmental and institutional research initiatives
- Collaborate with subspecialty divisions and research centers across Montefiore Einstein
Protected academic time may be available based on academic productivity and departmental needs.
Administrative and Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain active medical licensure and hospital privileges
- Participate in departmental committees and institutional initiatives as assigned
- Adhere to all institutional policies, compliance standards, and quality metrics
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and respectful clinical and academic environment

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of an accredited residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of New York
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in patient care and medical education
Preferred Qualifications
- Commitment to collaboration and teamwork
- Prior academic or teaching experience
- Interest in clinical research, quality improvement, or medical education scholarship
- Strong interpersonal and multidisciplinary collaboration skills

COMPENSATION: In addition to a competitive salary of $425,000 - $500,000, Montefiore offers a full suite of benefits, including health, dental, vision, LTD/STD, paid malpractice, and a 403(b)-retirement plan.
