OB-GYN opportunity in Rhinebeck, NY and Sharon, Connecticut

Northern Dutchess Hospital, located in Rhinebeck, New York, just two hours north of New York City, is seeking an additional physician to join our established and growing employed practice. The group currently consists of four board certified physicians and certified nurse midwives with a long-established reputation throughout the region. We are seeking a well-trained and caring OB/GYN who prefers to work in a small-town setting with all of the sophistication of a major medical center. 

***The physician will see patients in the Northern Dutchess Hospital clinic and take call shifts at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT. The locations are approximately 30 miles from each other. New graduates are welcome to apply.

The primary office is located in a suite at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. A secondary office is located across the Hudson River in the historic city of Kingston in an office shared with primary care. Deliveries are at the The Neugarten Family Birth Center at Northern Dutchess Hospital. The Birthing Center provides a safe, holistic and family-centered birthing experience with advanced medical and surgical offerings.  Built on a solid reputation for providing sophisticated maternity care in a homelike setting, the Birthing Center offers moms a single-room birthing experience where she labors, delivers, recovers and stays in one single room with her baby. Call shifts will also be covered at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, Connecticut.

Northern Duchess Hospital is an 84-bed, not-for-profit, community hospital. The hospital has an 87,000 square foot pavilion that has advanced clinical care available to the community. The pavilion has spacious, private patient rooms and state-of-the-art surgical suites equipped with minimally invasive technology, including the da Vinci Surgical System.

Rhinebeck is part of one of the largest historic districts in the US located along the scenic Hudson River. Rhinebeck offers New York City culture in a friendly, small-town setting. The village offers a plethora of restaurants, cafes, boutique shops, as well as larger events at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. Outdoor enthusiasts will find great skiing, hiking, biking, fishing and boating nearby. We are seeking a physician who desires to escape the hustle and bustle of big city living, while retaining access to top-rated restaurants, performing arts centers, museums, excellent housing and school systems, and prestigious colleges and universities. Area colleges include Bard, Vassar, Marist, and SUNY New Paltz, as well as the Culinary Institute of America. New York City is easily accessible via Amtrak.

Sharon Hospital is a 78-bed general hospital located in northwestern Connecticut. The Labor and Delivery room is slow and sees between 150-200 births per year. Sharon Hospital provides a full range of services including bariatric surgery, cardiology services, emergency care, neurosciences, orthopedics, stroke care, surgical services and women’s services. Located in scenic Litchfield County, Sharon is a community with many beautiful and small hamlets. Just 90 miles outside of New York City, Sharon offers a plethora of outdoor, community and family activities from hiking, biking, boating, and fishing in state and regional parks, to local attractions like museums, cafés, farmers markets, and art galleries.  Excellent housing and highly rated public schools can be found throughout the area. New York City, Hartford, and Boston are all easily accessible.

Salary:

$375,000 - $500,000 relative to experience
