Stamford Hospital, a member of Stamford Health, invites applications for a Board Certified/Board Eligible gynecologic oncologist to serve as Director of Gynecologic Oncology within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This position offers the opportunity to lead a mature and well established program with a strong referral base and to participate in the continued expansion of comprehensive cancer services at Stamford Health. Stamford Health maintains a formal collaboration with the DanaFarber Brigham Cancer Center, providing access to virtual second opinions, leading clinical trials, and the most current evidence-based standards in cancer care. Stamford Hospital is a major teaching affiliate of the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, with stand-alone residency programs in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and General Surgery.
Position Description
The successful candidate will join a program historically supported by contracted rotating GYN/ONC physicians and will now transition to a fulltime, institutionally supported gynecologic oncology service. Recruitment of a second gynecologic oncologist is anticipated in conjunction with the opening of Stamford Health’s new Cancer Center in 2028.Chemotherapy services are provided by onsite medical oncologists. Stamford Health utilizes the EPIC EMR.
Responsibilities
Provide highquality clinical care in gynecologic oncology (approximately 90% clinical effort)
Contribute to administrative leadership of the program (approximately 10% effort)
Teach and mentor OB/GYN residents and medical students
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborate with medical, surgical, and radiation oncology colleagues
Engage in clinical research and support access to clinical trials
Perform surgery in stateoftheart operating rooms, including access to three robotic surgical platforms
Participate in a light call schedule (1 week in 4), shared with urogynecologists
Qualifications:
Fellowship trained in gynecologic oncology
BC/BE
Seeking to take the next step in your career
Ability to secure a CT State Medical License
Strong commitment to providing excellent person-centered care
Excellent communication skills
