Position Overview
The Chair provides strategic oversight of all divisions within the Department of Ob/Gyn, guiding the development of clinical services, education, and research. The role includes responsibility for departmental vision, operations, finances, and faculty success, while advancing high quality, patient centered care.
Working closely with Division Chiefs, administrative partners, and School of Medicine leadership, the Chair will strengthen clinical programs, support regional growth, and foster collaboration across the health system.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute a clear strategic vision aligned with Prisma Health and academic priorities
Expand comprehensive Ob/Gyn services while maintaining national quality and safety standards
Oversee residency and medical education programs, including ACGME accreditation
Recruit, mentor, and retain high performing faculty and trainees
Advance scholarship and research through interdisciplinary collaboration and partnerships
Ensure strong fiscal and operational performance of the department
Promote an inclusive, supportive culture for faculty, staff, and learners
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be a respected and inspiring leader with:
M.D. or equivalent and board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Eligibility for appointment at the Professor level at the USC School of Medicine Greenville
Demonstrated success in academic medicine, clinical leadership, and faculty development
Strong communication skills and the ability to lead effectively within a complex, matrixed healthcare system
A passion for innovation, education, mentorship, and patient centered care
