Position Overview
Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford is seeking a Full Time motivated, Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN physician to join an established, employed practice at Saint Elizabeth Women’s Clinic in Middle Tennessee.
Located in one of the fastest-growing counties in the nation, this position offers the unique opportunity to build a thriving practice supported by a dedicated team, strong referral network, and the full resources of a regional women’s health leader. As a Southern Regional Hub backed by massive system-wide capital investments, we combine high-volume clinical energy with state-of-the-art facilities and high-acuity capabilities.
Practice Highlights & Schedule
Collaborative Team: Join an established practice currently comprising 3 physicians and 3 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
Balanced Workweek: 2 to 2.5 Clinic Days, 2 Procedure Days, 0.5 Day Administrative Time
Call Structure: Dedicated OB Hospitalist (Laborist) coverage manages unassigned patients, L&D triage, and OB emergency cases, eliminating traditional after-hours office call and protecting your quality of life.
Practice Setting: Outpatient OB/GYN clinic with access to state-of-the-art patient rooms, modern surgical suites, and Da Vinci robotic surgery technology.
Patient Population: Dedicated community-based women's health practice delivering care to a complex, resource-intensive patient base.
Facility & Service Line Capabilities
Hospital Overview: 411-bed facility serving a regional population of approximately 350,000 and delivering over 3,500 babies annually.
Level III NICU: Features the newly opened 22-bed Lee and Susan Moss Family Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to manage high-acuity infants close to home.
Expanded L&D Footprint: Multi-million dollar expansion adding 12,000 sq. ft., including 14 LDR rooms, 36 Postpartum suites, 4 LDRPs, and additional shelled space for future growth.
Subspecialty Access: Robust multidisciplinary collaboration with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, and specialized OB nursing teams.
Clinical Recognition: Rated "High Performing" for Maternity Care by U.S. News & World Report and holds a 5-Star Rating from the Tennessee Initiative for Perinatal Quality Care (TIPQC).
Designation: Located in an area with active Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) / Medically Underserved Area (MUA/P) designations.

Requirements
Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
Licensure: Eligible for or holds active medical licensure credentialed by the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners prior to hire.
Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Registration: Active or eligible for DEA registration.
